* STAR CONTRIBUTOR *

Marvin Bloom -

Although he sounds other worldly at times, Marvin Bloom is actually from Long Island, NY. His story is long and complicated. After living happily as an openly gay man in  the 80' and 90's, Marvin got cruised by a cute street Evangelist who seduced him to join the church. Believing he could not be gay AND Christian Marvin renounced his queer ways (and his Barbara Streisand collection) to become ex-gay. After two years of and intensive (and fruitless) straightening process, he finally re-emerged from the closet. Now "re-gayed" (to quote Marvin, "It's like being born-again Again!") he has begun to tell his story through YouTube videos and on podcasts. Still a Christian and a outspoken commentator, Marvin feels passionate about transgender issues. He appeared in Peterson Toscano's plays The Re-Education of George W. Bush--No President Left Behind and in Doin' Time in the Homo No Mo Halfway House--How I Survived the Ex-Gay Movement.

Kathryn

The reality of who she was caught up with her in February of 2008, and, at that time, Kathryn began her transition. In 2009, Kathryn transitioned while working as a manager in Austin, TX for a large U.S. bank , and was fortunate enough to be promoted shortly after her transition.

Kathryn is very active with a number of organizations. She is a current co-chair of Transgender Education Network of Texas. Shortly after transition, Kathryn founded a local chapter of her employers LGBT employee network group, and is the current chair of that organization. She is also active with PFLAG and other LGBT groups in Austin. Kathryn has a passion for advocating for change and understanding in the areas of employment non-discrimination, equal access to health care, and increasing understanding of trans issues in the law enforcement community.

When she is not working long hours at the bank or working for trans equality, Kathryn moonlights at a tough by the book Trans-Cop with the Bay City PD, and continues being in charge with fellow in charge person Mila. Of course, the greatest passion in her life is spending time with her two very in charge daughters, who identify as female to princess trans people.

PAST CONTRIBUTORS

Karen

Karen began her transition in November of 2005 and went fulltime a year later.  Karen produces videos for a government agency, and has transitioned on the job.  Providing content to Trans-Ponder.com podcasts allows her to make use of the skills she learned at the Defense Information School's broadcasting course.  She studies Japanese with the help of a Japanese tutor, and hopes to one day live in Japan.  For all the television she produces, she hardly watches any at all, and is easily stumped by the simplest cultural reference to a well known show or character.
